Dear companies ,
We, the Internship and Job Opportunity Board, represent the students of Washtenaw International High School located at 510 Emerick Street, Ypsilanti MI (http://www.wihi.org). WIHI has approximately 300 students this year with another 150 student expected to join next year. WIHI is a consortium program of Ann Arbor, Lincoln, Milan, Saline, Whitmore Lake, Ypsilanti Community Schools, and Washtenaw Intermediate School District. As an IB (International Baccalaureate) High School, WIHI students strive to be Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-Minded, Caring, Risk-Takers, Balanced, and Reflective. In the IB program, students are required to take advanced placement courses as part of the regular program. As part of the IB program, WIHI students take courses that build knowledge in the Sciences, Mathematics, Individuals and Societies, Studies in Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, and the Arts. Students are also required to take a second language (particularly spanish and french). With these many programs, WIHI students also participate in extracurricular activities that introduce them to the real world. Jobs and Internships are one of most direct ways to introduce students to the real world.
